THE LOVE-HATE RELATIONSHIP WITH MY ALARM.

THE LOVE-HATE RELATIONSHIP WITH MY ALARM.

It’s 5.00am on a crisp spring morning. The sound of my alarm is violently banging on my eardrums resulting a very upsetting start to the day. But in my moment of anger and discomfort, there is also a moment of excitement for the day ahead. It’s a new day, you see. A new opportunity to smell the sweet fresh sea breeze and paddle out into the ocean before the morning sun peeks from the distant horizon. The cool water cleanses my face and rushes into my wetsuit as I duck-dive the first wave of whitewash. At that point I don’t even care if I catch a wave. I am already, simply… happy.

Morning surfs are a gift. They are my solitude, my inspiration and my happiness. They are my morning coffee…
